My best idea is to upgrade to an intermediary OS, then upgrade from that to OS Catalina, but that's going to take a really long time and doesn't seem like it should be necessary. If you go to this website about Catalina installation issues, you'll see comments at the very bottom by four people (Abby, Max, Zep Lagman, and Sarah) all experiencing this same problem, with no helpful suggestion of what to do.Īny suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The rest of the computer doesn't freeze, I can still do other stuff, but the "back" and "install" buttons just stop working, and no update seems to be taking place. I've waited for hours, restarted the computer, and every time I try, I get to this step and then it stops doing anything. I can click the "back" option and that works properly, but when I click "install," the buttons just go grey and nothing happens. I found that it indicated the macOS Sierra app is marked installed. |
